Cynthia Chin Lee and I read excerpts from our essays to the sixth grade in their school library. We discussed what it meant to feel marginalized growing up and how it impacted our desire to become artists and writers. What role did discrimination play in our lives? The students had lots of questions and impressions.

Our various readings from The Lemon Tree in San Francisco on Sunday at the Military Intelligence Museum turned out to be so engaging and lively with meaningful discussion with our audience. The venerable Wendy Tokuda was our host and moderator and was and is the perfect facilitator. Such a wonderful experience and fun too!
